What we believe. 

Leadership is important:

In today’s environment, structural advantages are fleeting. Companies rise and fall based largely on the effectiveness of their leaders. Plus, the quality of life for everyone inside those organizations, has always been directly tied to the quality of leadership. If you want great results and a great employee experience, you’ve got to have leadership. That’s why we do what we do.

Real leaders engage:

We expect a lot from our leaders: functional expertise, strategic perspective, and a laundry list of skills and behaviors. It can feel like an ocean. But, at the end of the day, leadership boils down to two things: engaging people and engaging the real issues. If you don’t engage people, you won’t accomplish much of anything, and if you don’t engage the real issues, whatever you get done won’t matter anyway. That’s why we zero in on those two things in everything we do.

Good ideas are important:

There are tremendous insights to be drawn from academic research and the experience of skilled practitioners. There’s also a lot of nonsense, garbage science and bad advice out there. People need real insights, translated into practical guidance. That’s why we’ve built a team with the intellectual chops to draw from the best ideas out there, and the real-world experience to talk about them in terms actual human beings use.

Real development experiences need to engage too:

It’s easy to throw a bunch of content at people and tell ourselves they’ve been “trained”. But we all know that a lot of that stuff just bounces off. Real development experiences have to engage participants and engage the real issues they face as leaders. Otherwise, why bother? That’s why we build programs that help people face their reality, connect with their personal aspirations, and apply what they learn to their actual challenges in real time.
